Redlands, California— Jan 29, 2015—Technology and government leaders will gather for the Esri Federal GIS Conference in Washington, DC, February 9–10, to discuss the latest geospatial technology and how federal government agencies use it to build a more resilient nation. Keynote speakers include Robert Cardillo, director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), and former Maryland governor Martin O'Malley.

Cardillo, who has been a visionary in geospatial intelligence, will discuss his plans to create a dynamic, persistent, proactive intelligence service that continues to expand its mission to support global aid, humanitarian relief, and disaster response. Recent two-term governor of Maryland Martin O'Malley is one of the most technologically savvy elected officials in the United States. He will share how he used geospatial technology to radically improve state government including education, environment, safety, and the economy.

During the Plenary Sessions, immersion summits, and professional development workshops, attendees will learn about advances in geographic information system (GIS) technology in areas such as real-time analysis, open data, and 3D mapping.
