Reston, VA, Jan 15, 2015 -- The Virginia Association of Surveyors (VAS) has announced the firm of John M. Palatiello & Associates, Inc. (JMP&A) has been selected to provide association management services for the organization effective January 1, 2015.

“We are thrilled to hand the reins over to JMP&A,” said John Sehl, President of the Virginia Association of Surveyors. “The firm brings an abundance of experience in association management and expertise in the surveying profession.”

 “We look forward to working with VAS and working to grow and enhance the association,” said JMP&A President John Palatiello.

“We needed to explore the possibility that a change in style at VAS could be a good thing,” said Will Nash, VAS Past President. “JMP&A is the firm to steer us in the right direction.”

JMP&A will provide association management; financial management; member communications; public and media relations services; education; conference planning and coordination services; and work with the society to develop government affairs strategies. Mr. Palatiello will serve as the Executive Director for VAS, succeeding Judy Hite, who has been Executive Secretary of VAS for 33 years.

“Judy has been a legend in the Virginia surveying community and it has been my pleasure to work with her for many years.   She leaves a remarkable legacy that we hope to build upon,” said Palatiello.  Hite will continue to serve VAS for a transition until February 20.
