'Tis the Season to Celebrate Standards! ANSI Releases New Holiday Animation

Video Showcases the Critical Role of Voluntary Standards in Everyday Life

NEW YORK, Dec. 12, 2014 — (PRNewswire) —  The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) is sending out some good cheer – and standards education – through a new animation that highlights more than 40 American National and International Standards that support a safe and satisfying holiday season. From Christmas lights, to air travel, to Santa's entryway of choice – the chimney – products, processes, and systems of every kind are guided by standards for safety, performance, and interoperability.

" Standards Make the Holidays Sparkly and Safe," a two-minute musical animation, is posted on ANSI's YouTube page, and can be viewed and linked to from Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Google+.  ANSI has also added the video and an updated PDF poster version to its growing K-12 Student Resources page at www.ansi.org/students – part of an ongoing effort to educate a younger and broader audience on the critical roles of standards and conformance in all facets of everyday life.

Last year's seasonal video treat, " A Standards Celebration for the Holidays," can also be viewed on ANSI's YouTube and Student pages.

ANSI invites everyone from the standardization community – and every community – to enjoy the videos, share the links with colleagues, friends, and family, and have a safe and joyful holiday.
