ELLICOTT CITY, MD, Dec 10, 2014 — International Mapping offers public access to the most up-to-date and thoroughly researched maritime database in the world.  International Mapping’s Boundary Briefs contain an exact account of the cartographically operative language from bi-lateral agreements, arbitral awards or court judgments that define the maritime boundary. They include a large-scale map that prominently features the boundary and any specially defined maritime zones. Map Posters are beautifully crafted in full-color and show the established and potential maritime boundaries of a region or the world. GIS Data provides detailed coordinate data for international maritime boundaries and any specially designated areas for use in all common GIS software systems

When it comes to the delimitation of maritime boundaries, the only constant seems to be change. With hundreds of boundaries already settled and hundreds more still to come, attempting to stay abreast of the latest developments is a never-ending job. International Mapping is now committed to making this burdensome task much easier by offering its maritime database.

The maritime data from International Mapping is the only fully current and corrected source for maritime boundaries, containing corrections of errors found in other published and free sources. In addition to showcasing the boundaries, the database includes specially designated areas that form integral parts of maritime agreements. These special areas deal with a variety of topics such as fishing rights, joint development of seabed resources, enforcement of maritime laws and more.

Assisting sovereign States with their maritime boundary disputes is the core business of International Mapping and represents an area of expertise that has developed over many decades. The maritime database and its associated products are the culmination of thousands of hours of research, analysis, compilation and illustration.

The new Maritime Boundaries website has a simple goal: provide users with an accurate, concise and up-to-date snapshot of the world’s maritime areas. The new siteis a comprehensive reference tool that will aid anyone who needs to stay current with international maritime affairs.
