Leica Microsystems Announces New Representation for Southern California Medical Market

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill., Dec. 9, 2014 — (PRNewswire) —  Leica Microsystems, a technology leader in microscope and image analysis solutions, announces new market representation for its neurosurgical, ophthalmic, otolaryngologic, dental and plastic reconstructive microscope sales in southern California. This distribution enhancement impacts the area from Bakersfield, San Luis Obispo and Visalia south through Los Angeles and San Diego.

This new team of six independent manufacturer representatives was selected due to their strong presence, tenure in the surgical space, and responsiveness to customers in the region. Each individual brings a deep understanding of the medical environment and the needs of surgeons who practice in teaching and community hospitals, and in the outpatient setting.

"These changes allows us to offer high-level, professional expertise to our valued customers in the region, and we look forward to working more closely with these surgeons and staff to meet their evolving needs," says Scott Tedder, Director of Sales for Leica Microsystems' Medical Division, North America, who will oversee the new team. "As Leica Microsystems rolls out the new Leica M530 OH6 neurosurgical microscope, and communicates new partnerships, such as the one with TrueVision® 3D Surgical, it will be more critical than ever to have the strongest customer responsiveness in this region, and we have that in our newest team members."

Leica Microsystems also has added a dedicated field service engineer in the southern California region. "This move further demonstrates our strengthened focus and commitment to our customers in the area," says Tedder.
