Norwegian Armed Forces Selects Intergraph® for Cartographic Production

Maps will support military analysis and tactical use

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Nov. 18, 2014 — (PRNewswire) —  Norwegian Armed Forces has awarded Intergraph® a contract to produce unclassified topographical maps. Based on high resolution vector data produced through the Multinational Geospatial Co-production Program (MGCP), the maps will cover different regions of the world. Intergraph will use Hexagon Geospatial software for the cartographic solution.

Supporting the Norwegian Military Geographic Service (FMGT), the 1:50,000 scale maps, named MGCP Derived Graphics (MDGs), will provide detailed terrain information to support military analysis and tactical use. The MDGs will display the characteristics of the battlefield, such as land use patterns, logistical infrastructure, canals, waterways, demographics and political boundaries.
