Optech sponsoring joint Pecora, ISPRS, and IAG symposium

November 12, 2014 — Optech is pleased to announce that it sponsoring the Pecora Remote Sensing Symposium being held in conjunction with the Joint Symposium of ISPRS Technical Commission I and IAG Commission 4. As a sustaining member of ASPRS, Optech will attend the show from November 17 to 20 in Denver, CO to relate news about Optech’s latest breakthroughs for the remote sensing community.

Airborne surveyors needing greater collection efficiency will be excited to see what Optech Galaxy and its PulseTRAK™ technology can do for them. As the latest addition to Optech’s airborne sensor family, the compact single-beam Galaxy uses a 550 kHz measurement rate to produce point densities normally associated with hefty, dual-beam sensors, enabling wide-area surveying even from light fixed-wing or rotary aircraft. To help survey in hilly terrain, Galaxy’s PulseTRAK™ technology keeps point distribution and swath width constant with its swath tracking mode and lets you survey right through multipulse transition zones with its continuous operating envelope. For corridor work, PulseTRAK™ enables up to eight discrete returns per shot and displays a real-time “wires-mode” data preview for easy confirmation of data capture.

For organizations needing the most advanced bathymetry lidar system, Optech will also provide details about the new CZMIL Project Program, which puts the world’s most powerful and efficient bathymetric lidar in their hands. With large government agencies already employing Optech CZMIL for important projects, Optech is helping smaller academic and governmental organizations with short-term projects take advantage of CZMIL’s unparalleled performance in turbid, shallow and muddy-bottom conditions and 80 m maximum depth in clear waters. In addition to the CZMIL hardware itself, users of the CZMIL Project Program will also get assistance from Optech’s operation and processing personnel and access to Optech HydroFusion, CZMIL’s automated workflow software for producing seamless high-resolution topographic and bathymetric maps, detecting submerged objects, and automatically classifying the water column, benthic habitat and seafloor.

More details about Galaxy and the CZMIL Project Program will be available at Optech booth 301, along with information and news about the rest of Optech’s airborne lidar and camera systems, mobile mappers, and terrestrial laser scanners.
