Envitia celebrates 25 years of innovation and customer success

Nov 12, 2014 -- Envitia is delighted to celebrate 25 years of successfully delivering innovative products and services to the geospatial market. Founded in 1989 as TENET Systems Limited, the company set out with the vision to supply operational systems in the geospatial arena, supporting decision-making in the government and defence markets. From a starting team of six in 1989, the company now employs over 65 people, with offices in the UK and USA.

Envitia’s MapLink Pro technology has underpinned the progression of the company’s product line, and still does to this day.  MapLink Pro is now deployed in more than 8000 systems worldwide and is the geospatial toolkit of choice for the world’s leading system and technology integrators.  The company also supplied ground-breaking MapLink-based solutions to Registers of Scotland, HM Land Registry and later the Valuation Office Agency in the late 1990s, when TENET delivered the first component-based geographic information system (GIS) solutions for property management.

In response to international growth and a need for a consistent global brand, the company changed its name to ENVITA in 2009.    Envitia has continued to innovate and develop new products, including Discovery which was first released in 2012 to meet a demand for automated tools for cataloguing, processing and publishing geospatial data.  We also now provide technical consultancy and research in the application of advanced geospatial technology, providing a complete solution for our customers.

John Massey OBE, Chairman and Founder of Envitia commented:

“We are delighted to be celebrating this 25th anniversary milestone. Our continued growth is much attributed to our loyal customers, many of whom we have enjoyed working with for over two decades. We thank all of our customers and look forward to working with them far into the future.”

The world has changed a great deal since 1989, but Envitia’s mission remains focused on helping our customers make faster, better decisions from the use of geospatial information in operational environments.

To mark this major milestone for the company, Envitia has been celebrating it’s birthday at events throughout the year. To learn more about the history of Envitia and the 25 year celebration - visit www.envitia.com/25
