Written by House of Cards scribe Bill Kennedy and directed by Isaac Feder (Life on the Line), Sex Ed, the Grand Jury prize-winner for "Best Narrative Feature" at the Portland Film Festival stars Glen Powell (The Expendables 3) and Matt Walsh (Veep), alongside Osment and Retta. Sex Ed follows a new teacher, Eddie Cole, as he lands his first teaching gig at an inner city middle school, where he quickly finds that his highly pubescent pupils are receiving no form of sexual education. Eddie isn't exactly equipped to teach them—he's a virgin. And he's falling in love with Pilar, the older sister of one of his students. But Eddie goes off lesson plan and in doing so, incurs the wrath of the local reverend. Ultimately, Eddie learns that fighting for what's right is the best way to go "all the way." The movie was produced by Monika Casey (The River), Stephen Feder (Kumare), Dori Sperko (Among Rivers) and Elayne Schneiderman (Up in the Air, Ali) and was executive produced by Tommy Kelly (Catch of a Lifetime).
- Sex Ed will be available on Amazon, AT&T, Google Play, iTunes, Vimeo, VUDU, Vubiquity, and iN DEMAND on Cox, Comcast and Time Warner Cable.
Co-written by its director Cathryn Michon and her husband, New York Times best-selling author W. Bruce Cameron (A Dog's Purpose), the already buzzed-about Muffin Top: A Love Story includes a host of well-known actors and comedians including Marissa Jaret Winokur (The Talk), Melissa Peterman (Baby Daddy), Maria Bamford (Louie), Haylie Duff (Napoleon Dynamite), Retta, Diedrich Bader (The Drew Carey Show), Dot Marie Jones (Glee), Marcia Wallace (The Simpsons), and Markie Post (Hearts Afire). Women's Studies professor Suzanne Nicholson (Michon) lives in Los Angeles, photoshop capital of the world, where she inspires her students to reject the media images of beauty that tell us no woman is ever good enough. She's been trying to get pregnant via IVF, but when she discovers that her husband (Bader) wants a divorce because he's knocked up his younger, thinner co-worker (Duff), her life crashes around her. Suddenly single, the hormones she's been taking (along with perfectly justifiable medicinal cake and wine) have caused Suzanne to grow a muffin top she honestly feels is a force of pure evil, and so she turns to increasingly desperate and hilarious measures to both lose weight, and get a life.
- Muffin Top: A Love Story (rated R) will be available on Amazon, AT&T, DirecTV, Google Play, iTunes, Vubiquity, Vimeo and VUDU.
