DataTorrent Brings Real-Time Streaming Analytic Application Assembly and Data Visualization to the Non-Developer

SANTA CLARA, CA -- (Marketwired) -- Oct 15, 2014 -- DataTorrent, Inc., creator of the world's first enterprise grade, real-time stream processing platform on Hadoop, today announced the private beta of Project da Vinci and Project Michelangelo, two projects meant to enable greater adoption of Hadoop and real-time streaming applications for application developers and data scientists. With today's release, enterprise developers and data scientists can easily create real-time, streaming big data analytics applications. They can also access a visual dashboard for improved visibility into the data being generated around their particular organization. Additionally, the company also announced the availability of DataTorrent RTS 2.0.

Real-time streaming applications provide extremely valuable situational analysis to data scientists and business analysts. Development of these applications, however, has been in the exclusive domain of knowledgeable technical developers, limiting their accessibility. With the release of Projects da Vinci and Michelangelo, DataTorrent places the power of real-time applications into the hands of data scientists and analysts through intuitive, easy to use and powerful visual tools.

The following projects are available in a private beta release to select enterprises:

  • Project da Vinci: With da Vinci, DataTorrent RTS users no longer need expert technical knowledge to build real-time streaming applications. Da Vinci combines the ease of visual development tools with the comprehensive data analysis provided by RTS into a simple, easy-to-use web-based application builder.
  • Project Michelangelo: For big data applications, true value is defined by the ability to gather key insights in real-time via a visual dashboard. With Michelangelo, data scientists now have a palate of visualization tools, allowing them to design a dashboard, in real-time, on a running application via a web-based dashboard builder.

"Having led the design and development of DataTorrent RTS, I am extremely aware of the technical rigor that has been required of developers in the past," said Amol Kekre, co-founder and CTO of DataTorrent. "With the release of Projects da Vinci and Michelangelo, DataTorrent is putting the power of real-time streaming analytics squarely in the hands of non-developers -- the data scientists and business analysts who can benefit the most from instantaneous data analytics."

Projects da Vinci and Michelangelo are available for select enterprises from November 5, 2014. For more information, or to download, visit the DataTorrent website.
