NovaCopy Announces Launch of 3D Printing University

NASHVILLE, TN -- (Marketwired) -- Oct 14, 2014 -- NovaCopy, Inc., 3D Systems top reseller in the South, is taking its 3D Printing education to a new level with hands-on 3D Printing classes. Launching "NovaCopy 3D University" (3DU), NovaCopy will offer the first official 3D Printing class at its facilities in Nashville on October 22.

NovaCopy's President of 3D Printing Solutions, Melissa Ragsdale, said the educational initiative stems from increased interest in NovaCopy's 3D solutions as well as the lack of base knowledge and confidence the end-user/buyer usually has.

"We are seeing a strong interest in 3D technology and solutions in our markets," Ragsdale said. "However, there currently is no easy route for an end-user to gain experience with both the hardware and software of 3D Printing. NovaCopy decided to create a 3D university centered around hands-on instruction in 3D modeling and printing via classroom-style training courses."

Attendees of the entry-level, three-hour class, which is open to anyone interested in 3D Printing technology, will be held at NovaCopy's 3D Print lab in Nashville. The promotional cost of the class is $299 per registrant. Class curriculum will include basic information from how 3D Printing works to more involved processes such as what it takes to design a 3D model. Utilizing NovaCopy's state-of-the-art hardware and taught by experts in the 3D printing industry, attendees will work at their own 3D workstation (complete with 3D printer) enabling them to leave class with an actual 3D-printed object.

Plans for additional hands-on courses and enhanced certification are currently being developed and will be presented through NovaCopy 3D University in the coming months. Classes will be held at NovaCopy's branch offices, but can also be offered on-location at a business or organization provided certain criteria are met.

"We're excited about what the future holds for 3D Printing," said Ragsdale. "Education has always played a key role in advancing technology and having NovaCopy 3DU provide that education to businesses and 3D enthusiasts will only help speed that advancement."
