LOS ANGELES — (BUSINESS WIRE) — October 14, 2014 — The Secret Service and Pixel Chat Games today launched side-scrolling action game “The Adventures of SlingCat” for iOS, Android and Windows mobile-enabled devices. Featuring easy-to-use touch screen and mouse controls, “The Adventures of SlingCat” mixes run and jump gameplay with skill and strategy-based arrow shooting to deliver a dynamic gaming experience.
Armed with a treasure map and a bow capable of shooting unconventional ammo like electric eels, players help titular feline character SlingCat battle his way across the island to rescue his sister from an evil pirate dog riding a vulture. While collecting coins, he must dodge birds, falling rocks, aggressive boar and gunfire from gangster rabbits, among other surprises. Each level ends with arrow combat against SlingCat’s enemies, with users earning access to power ups like “Speed Boost” and the dominating “Shark Arrow” – uncovering hidden secrets within the game along the way. Original and inventive, “The Adventures of SlingCat” is like a combination of “Angry Birds” and “Donkey Kong” meets “Tom and Jerry,” appealing to casual gamers of all ages.
Created by Pixel Chat Games Co-founders Yves Tremblay and Jared Barber, and published by The Secret Service, “The Adventures of SlingCat” was inspired by a love of cartoons and desire to combine running and shooting mechanics with a rich storyline and interesting characters to build an engaging, fun game.
