Carbon Design Systems and Breker Partner to Deliver Software-Driven Verification Solutions

Integrated Solution Enables Early Detection, Resolution of Critical System Issues

ACTON, MASS. –– October 7, 2014–– Carbon Design Systems, Inc., the leading supplier of accurate virtual prototype solutions, and Breker Verification Systems, the System-on-Chip (SoC) Verification Company, today announced availability of Carbon Performance Analysis Kits (CPAKs) pre-loaded with embedded system verification software and a direct link to Breker’s TrekSoC™ visualization environment.

The joint solution will enable virtual prototype users to validate the functionality and architectural features of their system-on-chip (SoC) designsusing self-verifying, system-level software test cases.

As one element of the partnership, Breker will publish CPAKs containing the embedded tests and TrekSoC integration on Carbon’s System Exchange web portal. Engineers will be able to quickly modify or extend this design to model the behavior of their own SoC.  The system tests generated by TrekSoC enable verification of critical system-level issues such as cache coherency, intellectual property (IP) integration, data ordering, multiple CPU interactions, and other issues typically found later in the design cycle when they are more difficult to address.

“System-level verification is a crucial part of the design flow,” states Adnan Hamid, chief executive officer at Breker. “Carbon’s CPAKs are an ideal platform to run our tests since they get designers up and running quickly and have the debuggability and 100% accuracy needed to identify system-level issues early in the design cycle.”

“Since our CPAKs contain 100% accurate virtual models, they are the ideal platform to perform software-driven verification,” adds Bill Neifert, chief technical officer at Carbon.  “Working together with Breker enables us to get architects and designers quickly and truly verifying the crucial system-level characteristics of their designs.”
