Fairchild's P-Channel PowerTrench® MOSFET Wins Electronic Product China’s Optimized Development Award

Only MOSFET That Reduces Energy Usage By 50 Percent In A Compact Package

SAN JOSE, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — September 29, 2014Fairchild (NASDAQ: FCS), a leading global supplier of high performance power semiconductor solutions, has been named an Optimized Development Award winner in the 12th annual Top-10 DC-DC Power Product Awards presentation hosted by Electronic Products China (EPC). This is the eighth time Fairchild has received the prestigious award that recognizes solutions with complete development kits and support for enabling engineers to quickly develop their systems.

This year’s award goes to the 150V FDMC86259P P-Channel PowerTrench® MOSFET, which is produced using Fairchild’s advanced PowerTrench® process tailored to minimize on-state resistance while maintaining superior switching performance. The process helps to reduce footprint while achieving superior switching speed and 50 percent energy saving compared to the nearest competitor in both conduction and switching losses.

“Our 150V FDMC86259P devices deliver significant energy savings optimized for datacenter and base station applications that demand fast switching power circuits,” said Suman Narayan, Vice-President, iFET Product Line. “Fairchild is focused on helping customers increase the energy efficiency of their power systems, so we are delighted to have won this prestigious award recognizing our leadership in mid-voltage P channel MOSFET technology.”

The Top-10 DC-DC Power Product Awards are designed to highlight significant advances in a technology or its application. The awards emphasize innovation and excellent price/performance and cover all power products. Submissions are evaluated on three criteria: a significant advancement in a technology or its application, innovative design and a substantial achievement in price/performance. Additionally, there are five individual awards: Technology Breakthrough Award, Best Application Award, Optimized Development Award, Green Energy Award and the Independent Innovation Award.
