Los Angeles County Chooses EnerGov, Tyler Technologies’ Planning, Permitting and Licensing Solution

Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning selects EnerGov for its commercial-off-the-shelf capabilities

PLANO, Texas — (BUSINESS WIRE) — September 25, 2014 — Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) today announced it has signed a contract with California’s Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning for its EnerGov® planning, permitting and licensing solution after a competitive review. The agreement, valued at $2.3 million, includes software licenses, implementation services, related professional services and support.

The county sought a planning, permitting and licensing solution with commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) functionality that would aid in the countywide strategic plan to maximize operational effectiveness. The Los Angeles County evaluation committee selected Tyler’s EnerGov software solution through a competitive evaluation process based on several considerations, including staff qualifications, project management methodologies, references and a series of live software demonstrations.

Tyler’s EnerGov solution will expand the county’s public access availability with Web-enabled applications that support payment portals, electronic plan reviews and public information requests. With EnerGov, the county’s permitting customers will be able to electronically submit applications, forms and plans, saving material costs and travel time. Additionally, EnerGov’s mobile applications will provide Los Angeles County staff with enhanced, real-time access to data and GIS spatial analysis while in the field.

“EnerGov was designed to increase interaction and efficiencies between agencies and customers, and our centralized workflow system will unify data and processes at Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning,” said Brett Cate, president of Tyler’s Local Government Division. “Aligned with the department’s motto of planning for challenges ahead, Tyler is committed to putting its clients first, working with them directly during data conversion, implementation and beyond to ensure their long-term success.”

Los Angeles County is the most populous county in the U.S. with a population of roughly 10 million and more than 88 incorporated cities. The Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles recently selected Tyler’s Odyssey® court case management software solution to modernize court processes and optimize resources.
