Mapping Firm Adds State-of-the-Art Leica Sensor to World-Class Capabilities

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Sept. 24, 2014 — (PRNewswire) —  The Sanborn Map Company, Inc. (Sanborn) has purchased a Leica ALS70-HP high-pulse-rate airborne LiDAR sensor, and the cutting-edge system already is benefiting Sanborn customers.

The ALS70-HP is a compact laser-based system designed to acquire high-density topographic and return-signal-intensity data. The sensor is designed for general-purpose mapping at the flying heights most widely used, and can accommodate greater terrain relief due to its higher maximum flying height. The system produces high-density point clouds for corridor, urban, flood plain or general-purpose airborne mapping in a fraction of the time previously required.
