Livermore, California Goes Live with Accela Civic Platform to Modernize Land Management

Upgrade to Accela Land Management Enables Livermore to Simplify Civic Process, Increase Productivity and Improve Service Delivery

SAN RAMON, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — September 17, 2014Accela, the leading provider of civic engagement solutions for government, today announced that the City of Livermore is now live with Accela Land Management solutions on the Accela Civic Platform. Modernizing the city’s ability to engage with citizens, the Accela solution replaced a legacy client-server system.

Serving nearly 85,000 residents on the eastern edge of the San Francisco Bay Area, the City of Livermore is home to rapid high-tech and residential expansion. Accela Land Management will streamline the city’s planning and zoning, permitting and inspection, and code enforcement. The solutions make it easy to govern land use and community development activities and to move from plan consideration to certificate of occupancy faster, which enables Livermore to save time for citizens and agency staff, increase productivity and better serve its growing populace.

Accela Land Management is a core solution on the Civic Platform, which provides the foundation for creating the two-way flow of data that makes engagement possible and helps to build the bridge between agencies and citizens. The Civic Platform streamlines critical agency functions like land and asset management, licensing, legislative management, resource and recreation management, right of way management, and public health and safety.

“The City of Livermore is always looking for ways to continually improve service to the community,” said Neal Snedecor, Information Technology Manager for the City of Livermore. “Accela is helping us achieve our goals, which include speeding up processes, reducing office foot traffic and making our employees more efficient through access to information in the field.”

The Livermore deployment of the Accela Civic Platform also includes:

  • Accela Citizen Access: Enables citizens, building contractors and tradespeople to search for, submit and pay for permit applications.
  • Accela Mobile Office: Designed specifically for field use and leveraging the latest in mapping technology, Mobile Office will help agency staff create inspections, investigations and code enforcement cases from the field.
  • Accela GIS: Provides agency staff with an easy way to interact with GIS data through integration with their Esri or Internet maps.

“We applaud the City of Livermore’s upgrade to Accela Land Management,” said Maury Blackman, Accela president and CEO. “We’re proud to provide the city with the solutions it needs to streamline its civic processes, deliver improved services to citizens and build a better community.”
