BOXX Remote Access XDI Demos and More at SIGGRAPH 2014

AUSTIN, TX -- (Marketwired) -- Aug 11, 2014 -- BOXX Technologies, the leading innovator of high-performance workstations and rendering systems, today announced that their remote access XTREME Desktop Infrastructure (XDI) solutions will demonstrate Autodesk Media & Entertainment software at AMD booth #1023 at SIGGRAPH 2014. BOXX hardware solutions will also be on hand to demonstrate a selection of applications at additional exhibitor booths throughout the conference. Held at the Vancouver Convention Centre in Vancouver, B.C., August 10-14, SIGGRAPH is the premier event for computer graphics and interactive techniques. The BOXX demos, featuring experts from Autodesk, Chaos Group, Lightworks, and Luxion, will showcase creation software, as well as rendering applications.

"BOXX provides the world's fastest, most reliable, and most innovative hardware solutions," said Shoaib Mohammad, BOXX VP of Marketing and Business Development. "Our SIGGRAPH demos, conducted by leading experts, will provide attendees with an opportunity to experience how professional applications are supposed to run."

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) enables an organization to host several virtual workstations on a single server, providing engineers, architects, and 3D artists with remote access, data centralization, data security, and high speed shared storage. BOXX Technologies implementation of this technology, known as XDI, includes one-to-one remote access physical workstations as well as solutions which allow multiple users to access multiple virtual workstations on a single server. Inside the AMD booth, XDI solutions featuring AMD FirePro™ R5000 remote graphics cards will power all Autodesk software demos, while an additional XDI system (featuring three new AMD FirePro™ S9150 compute cards) demonstrates DaVinci Resolve running over PCoIP technology by Teradici.

"BOXX XDI solutions take advantage of the AMD FirePro R5000 remote graphics card featuring integrated Teradici PCoIP remote workstation technology," said Olivier Favre, Director of Product Management, Teradici. "This enables the benefits of traditional Virtual Desktop Infrastructure while preserving the performance and experience for users of graphics intense applications."

At Chaos Group booth #501, 3DBOXX 4920 XTREME, the world's most powerful single processor workstation, will demonstrate GPU rendering and V-Ray for motion builder. Featuring a safely overclocked, six core, Intel® Core™ i7 processor (up to 4.5 GHz), liquid cooling, and up to four NVIDIA GPUs, 4920XT is capable of supporting the most demanding 3D scenes or engineering assemblies. On hand for additional V-Ray rendering demos is renderPRO, the world's first personal, dedicated rendering solution for 3D graphics, animation, and compositing. renderPRO can also be found hosting demonstrations at the Luxion KeyShot booth #1250, alongside the twelve core, dual Intel® Xeon® 3DBOXX 8920, a workstation also certified for all Autodesk M&E applications, in addition to engineering software like SolidWorks.

Inside PNY booth #908, the latest edition of the compact, liquid-cooled, 3DBOXX 4150 XTREME leads demonstrations of Autodesk M&E applications. An overclocked, 4th generation, Intel® Core™ i7 processor (4.5 GHz) enables 4150XT to outperform its predecessor by nearly ten percent. As compared to standard model Intel Core i7 workstations which, even with a 4.4GHz Turbo Boost, may still clock down to as low as 4.0GHz during compute-intensive tasks, the overclocked 4150XT reaches 4.5GHz and sustains that frequency across all cores -- even in the most demanding situations. Available with up to two, full-length NVIDIA or AMD professional graphics cards, 4150XT also provides outstanding support for engineering, architectural, and product design software including SolidWorks, and Autodesk® Revit®. BOXX demos also include a pair of 3DBOXX 4925 GPU Edition workstations demonstrating NVIDIA Iray® at the Lightworks booth # 916. Each of these 4925 GPU Edition systems feature a single Intel Xeon processor and four NVIDIA Quadro K6000 GPUs.

"Leading application providers choose BOXX as their demonstration hardware because they know we understand professional visualization and workflows," said Chris Morley, BOXX Product Marketing Manager. "Our expertise enables us to produce optimized configurations that provide the best possible user experience when dealing with complex simulations, rendering, and ray tracing."
