Carcassonne is an imaginative strategy game set in medieval France. Players generate a map by fitting matching tiles together, and constructing cities and roads in order to gain points. Gamers must close their city walls and deploy knights, monks and thieves to establish ownership and protect properties. The game offers artificially intelligent in-game opponents or users can compete with up to five other players.
The striking, old-world style visuals of the game are stunning on the Windows* 8.1 tablet's sharp display. The sensitive touch screen makes maneuverability smooth and sleek portability allows users to take the game with them. The Intel® Developer Zone made code, support and troubleshooting available during the optimization process.
"We've really worked to create an outstanding gaming experience – with a medieval look and feel, clever AI challenging the players with individual strategies and our upcoming online multiplayer mode," says Frank Zahn, CEO of Exozet. "The Intel Atom tablets for Windows* 8.1 are so responsive and versatile, gamers can enjoy hours of Carcassonne wherever they want."
Carcassonne is available for immediate download at the Windows* app store:
