Preferred Industry Partner, InterSpec, Enhances BIM Integration with Autodesk 2015 Applications

June 18th, 2014InterSpec Inc., the industry leading provider of BIM integrated construction specification software and services, announced the availability of the e-SPECS® Plug-In Console support for the latest Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks 2015 suite of applications.

An Autodesk Developer Network (ADN) partner, InterSpec is also distinguished as a selected Autodesk Preferred Industry Partner. As a Preferred Industry Partner, InterSpec has the advantage to provide customers with support for newly released Autodesk applications within days of the official product releases, ensuring customers can upgrade to the latest products and functionality as their schedules demand.

One of these new features available – the ability to browse for the UniFormat assembly description file on the network – was a request by InterSpec’s President and CEO, Gilles Letourneau.  Additionally, the e-SPECS Browser, enabling on-demand access to specifications and related project files and notes, will be accessible with the Autodesk 2015 applications.

“This now means that firms will have the ability to direct Revit to a network location, so the Uniformatclassifications.txt file can be easily updated without copying to each Revit workstation prior to launch of the application,” said Letourneau. “Users will no longer have to export, copy and replace these files on every workstation, like they did before.  The reduction in steps involved helps to streamline the integration between the BIM drawings and specifications.”

Customers requiring the Autodesk 2015 e-SPECS Plugin Consoles will have immediate notification of availability and a download link on their e-SPECS Start Page or can request a download by emailing Email Contact.
