Jun 4, 2014 -- UK Local Authorities using advanced Gazetteer Management Software from GGP Systems have been some of the top achievers at a recent awards ceremony that celebrated good practice in the management of municipal records. Top ranked authorities using the GGP software for managing street data included Blackpool Council and Salford City Council, with South Northamptonshire Council, Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council and Tamworth Borough Council amongst nine authorities recognised as having the best land and property records.
Following an exhaustive assessment process led by GeoPlace, who create and maintain the National Address Gazetteer and National Street Gazetteer, The main Awards were presented at the ceremony in Manchester last month. Notable successes amongst GGP users were Ribble Valley Borough Council winning the award ‘Most Improved Address Data’ and Wyre Forest District Council who won ‘Best Address Data in West Midlands Region’.
Other councils using GGP software winning ‘Gold Achievement Awards’ were Boston Borough Council, Cannock Chase District Council, East Devon and North Devon District Councils, Wyre Forest District Council and Runnymede Borough Council.
