IAR Systems Offers Runtime Analysis Simplified for IAR Embedded Workbench Users

Fully integrated with IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM, C-RUN is an add-on product that provides developers with unmatched accessibility to powerful code analysis

UPPSALA, Sweden — (BUSINESS WIRE) — May 19, 2014 — Today, IAR Systems® proudly announces that its runtime analysis product C-RUN™ is available as an add-on to the world-leading development toolchain IAR Embedded Workbench® for ARM®. Integrated with the toolchain, C-RUN offers each developer access to runtime analysis that brings powerful functionality and is easy to use.

C-RUN is a brand new product from IAR Systems that performs runtime analysis by monitoring application execution directly within IAR Embedded Workbench. The tight integration with the toolchain supports the full cycle of implementation, testing and debugging. C-RUN for ARM has several powerful features such as bounds checking to ensure accesses to arrays and other objects are within boundaries, different overflow and arithmetic checks, as well as a comprehensive heap checker. Flexible settings enable developers to customize analysis functionality according to specific needs.

“C-RUN is developed by IAR Systems’ own compiler and debugger tool experts and introduces code analysis as an early, natural part of the development cycle”, says Anders Holmberg, Product Manager, IAR Systems. “Thanks to the seamless integration of C-RUN with IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM, the workflow remains uninterrupted and the developer can expect to feel right at home when using C-RUN.”

“Runtime analysis that is both powerful and easy to use is not something that has been readily available to embedded developers. Our customers have inspired us to make runtime analysis more accessible, and I am very proud to now be able to offer them C-RUN for ARM”, says Stefan Skarin, CEO, IAR Systems. “We are well-known for the high performance and ease of use of our development tools, and with C-RUN we bring a new dimension to our world-leading ARM tools offering.”

IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM is a high-performance C/C++ compiler and debugger toolchain that incorporates a compiler, an assembler, a linker and a debugger into one complete integrated development environment. C-RUN is available today, as an add-on product to version 7.20 of
