Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute Announces CRSI HONORS Recipients

(SCHAUMBURG, IL – May 16, 2014) The Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI) has announced the recipients of the inaugural 2013 CRSI HONORS recognition program. For over 40 years the CRSI Design Awards program has recognized design and construction achievement by owners, architects, engineers and construction managers across North America.

The focus of CRSI HONORS is less the structure itself and more the leadership and innovation demonstrated by design and construction professionals, who under challenging circumstances, leverage material strengths and find ways to make great structures possible. Submittals were reviewed in detail, focusing on the ways in which reinforced concrete was leveraged by professionals and improved the structure’s value, sustainability, appearance and durability. Submittals are categorized by Project, Leader, Innovation or Corporate and had to be substantially completed between January 1st, 2009 and March 1st, 2013 and be primarily dependent upon steel reinforced concrete systems.

A total of 30 CRSI HONORS submittals were recognized for their excellence in design and construction among the reinforced concrete industry. Recognitions included an Honors Award, Merit Award and a Special Citation. For a complete list of recipients, please visit the CRSI HONORS website at http://honors.crsi.org and click on the Recognition Recipients link.
