Maker Faire Bay Area 2014 Brings "Maker Week" to San Mateo, CA, May 12-18

SEBASTOPOL, CA -- (Marketwired) -- May 12, 2014 -- Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth. This annual Bay Area gathering brings together makers, innovators, hobbyists, DIY-ers, thought leaders, tinkerers, and experts at the San Mateo Event Center. "Maker Week," leading up to Maker Faire Bay Area, is packed with exciting events and opportunities throughout the Bay Area that celebrate the core values of the maker movement: ingenuity, creativity, and a DIY spirit at a location that makers of every age and skill level can see, learn, do, and explore.

"As the maker movement grows, Maker Faire is here to support the needs of makers to gather, network, and learn from each other," said Sherry Huss, co-founder of Maker Faire and vice president of Maker Media. "That's what Maker Week is all about. From the Teacher Meetup that will help teachers jumpstart their efforts of making in the classroom to MakerCon where makers can learn from other makers how to get their projects off the ground and into the production process. We're thrilled to bring these opportunities to the entire Bay Area maker community and provide them with the platform to get the information and inspiration they want to take their making to the next level."
