Free & simple instant sheet metal quoting add-in for PTC Creo users
April 16, 2014 -- Nashua, NH – Rapid Sheet Metal, a dedicated rapid prototype sheet metal shop, is excited to announce the release of SolidQuote for PTC Creo. SolidQuote allows product development engineers to quote and order sheet metal parts and assemblies instantly. Recognizing many mechanical engineers and designers don’t have the time to sit around waiting for quotes, Rapid has developed an innovative way to provide those sheet metal prototype quotes simply and instantly.
After SolidQuote is installed, users can cost a sheet metal part or assembly by selecting a material, finish and quantity. No other inputs are needed at the time of installation or costing. SolidQuote identifies and automatically costs such sheet metal features as hems, hardware and welding. A PTC Creo user can iterate their design and immediately see how design changes will impact the cost of the part. PTC Creo users can also learn how different materials, finishes such as plating, and quantities change pricing.
“By using SolidQuote for CREO, our customers will be able to save time and money in both the design and fabrication processes,” said James Jacobs, President of Rapid Sheet Metal. “Users will be able to cost their sheet metal their parts and assemblies while they are designing them instead of waiting until the design is complete. And these are real numbers – users also can order parts instantly which will then ship in seven business days or less. Bottom-line, by integrating PTC Creo SolidQuote into their sheet metal design process, PTC Creo users will be able to cost and order prototype sheet metal parts instantly, 24/7.”
