ProTek Devices' Intros New Power Bus Voltage Suppressor Component

TEMPE, Ariz., April 14, 2014 — (PRNewswire) —  ProTek Devices has introduced a new voltage suppressor component to provide power bus circuit protection using features such as a rated stand-off of 78 volts, bidirectional configuration, and a package weighing just 9.8 grams. ProTek Devices' 2700SM78CAN also provides 2,250 kilowatts of peak pulse power per line (typical = 8/20 microamps).

In addition, the new component provides a peak pulse current of 15 kiloamperes (typical = 8/20 microamps) and other features suited for power bus voltage suppression. They include a minimum breakdown voltage of 86 volts, a maximum clamping voltage of 150 volts, and a maximum leakage current of 10 microamperes. Leakage current is rated at 10 volts.

The 2700SM78CAN is RoHS complaint (exemption #7A - high power device) and is provided with lead-free silver plating. Its co-planarity is < 0.10mm. The flammability rating is UL 94V-0. Storage temperature is -55 to +150 degrees Celsius and operating temperatures are -40 to +125 degrees Celsius.

Pricing and Availability
ProTek Devices' 2700SM78CAN is now available in mass quantities. Pricing starts at around $24.79 per part in minimum quantities of 100 units. It's available in 32mm tape and reel, per EIA standard 481, which provides 250 voltage suppressor components per 32mm tape.
