Sewall and CAI Technologies Announce New Cooperative Agreement

April 08, 2014 -- James W. Sewall Company of Old Town, Maine, and Cartographic Associates, Inc. (dba CAI Technologies) of Littleton, New Hampshire, have announced a new cooperative agreement whereby clients will benefit from the expertise of two GIS companies instead of one.

According to the agreement, Sewall and CAI will market their combined services, knowledge and capacity to clients, providing them access to a full continuum of capabilities, including local, regional, and state mapping; GIS implementation, hosting and custom application development; civil and environmental engineering solutions; and forestry and natural resource consulting.

David Edson, President/CEO of Sewall, says, “Our two firms are very excited about our new relationship. Clients will benefit from the professional expertise of two companies instead of one while continuing to receive the high level of service they’ve come to expect. This type of partnership will become ever more important to our clients as the range of and need for geospatial services rapidly increase in the digital age.”

Franco Rossi, President of CAI Technologies echoes Dave’s comments. “This relationship will allow both firms to focus on the services at which we each excel, to the benefit of our respective, and in some cases, common clients. I believe our common corporate philosophies and recognition of each other’s strengths will enable us to share resources effectively and expand available services to our clients, allowing us to better serve them.”

Sewall, founded in 1880, offers engineering, forestry and geospatial services to clients in both the public and private sectors. Sewall has served municipalities in the eastern United States for decades by providing tax mapping services and, as the technology matured, a full spectrum of GIS services. With civil engineering and survey, aerial photography, remote sensing, photogrammetry, GIS, and software engineering (IT) professionals on staff, Sewall offers consulting services across the eastern United States and Maritime Provinces of Canada.

CAI Technologies was founded in 1985 as a municipal mapping company. To meet clients’ growing needs since that time, CAI Technologies has become a leader in GIS solutions, while still providing a wide spectrum of mapping services. As an ESRI Business Partner, a plethora of tools and resources can be brought to bear to address specific client needs. Using CAI Technologies Query Manager Online web based GIS solution, hundreds of communities are realizing cost effective ways to distribute GIS information and tools, streamlining daily functions and analysis. Throughout its growth and expansion of services, the company has never lost sight of the importance of providing top-quality, cost-effective services. As a direct result of that guiding principle and the commitment of the entire CAI Technologies staff, the company serves nearly 400 local, regional and state governments, as well as large regional utilities.
