Innovative solutions for seismic challenges: The two trade fairs Seismic Safety and INTERGEO Eurasia open their gates on April 28, 2014.

Istanbul, Munich, Karlsruhe, April 4, 2014 ---  Seismic Safety, the new Trade Fair for Earthquake Resistance, Fire Protection and Intelligent Urbanization, and INTERGEO Eurasia, which deals with the topics of surveying, geoinformation, remote sensing and photogrammetry, take place in Instanbul. The two events bring exhibitors and visitors together at a location that has been affected by earthquakes and is still threatened by seismic natural catastrophes. On April 28 and 29, advanced solutions to seismic challenges will be presented at Seismic Safety and INTERGEO Eurasia at the WOW Convention Center.

For the first time ever, combining these two trade fairs will make it possible to experience the entire process chain in earthquake-resistant planning live: From compiling data and analyzing the construction property to selecting suitable building materials and techniques. Approximately 70 exhibitors from twelve countries including Turkey, Germany, the United States, Japan and Italy will take advantage of the synergies created by these two events and present their products and techniques on 2,000 squaremeters of gross exhibition space.

Besides the regular exhibition, both shows score points for the sophisticated content of their related events. Among other things, the architecture magazine DETAIL will hold an international forum called "Seismic Talks" for architects and urban planners that deals with the topic of earthquake-resistant building and planning. Istanbul architects such as Can Çinici (Çiniçi Mimarlik), Ömer Kanipak (Architekt Tasarim AItolyesi Kadiköy) and Murat Tabanlioğlu (Tabanlioğlu Architects) will hold lectures and present their earthquake-resistant projects. Other international experts such as Emre Arolat (Emre Arolat Architects), Prof. Dr. Murat Güvenç (İstanbul Şehir Üniversitesi), Prof. Uwe Rieger (The University of Auckland), David Sim (Gehl Architects) and Dr.-Ing. Sebastian Storz (Forum Baukultur e.V. and MusAA) will participate in public discussions that deal with the following questions: What conclusions have we been able to draw from previous earthquake catastrophes? What synergies are created as the result of international collaboration? How should the architecture and urban planning sectors respond to the seismic challenge? Points where the two shows intersect will be examined more closely in joint sessions within the scope of the INTERGEO Conference.

Interested visitors can register online at the website www.seismic-safety.net. Those who do will be granted free admission to both trade fairs. Participation in the Seismic Talks and the joint sessions that are part of the INTERGEO Conference is free of charge for all visitors attending the fair. Those who decide to attend the fair at the last minute may purchase a ticket at the convention center for 20 Turkish Lira. Seismic Safety and INTERGEO Eurasia take place at the WOW Convention Center near the Atatürk International Airport.
