LAPIS Semiconductor Introduces LAPIS Development Kit to Streamline Application-Specific Design Process with its Mini Low Power Microcontrollers

Complete, feature-rich kit enables embedded OEMs to easily start creating circuits and programs around its new powerful microcontrollers and dramatically shorten time-to-market

KYOTO, Japan and SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 1, 2014 — (PRNewswire) —  LAPIS Semiconductor Co. Ltd., a ROHM Group Company, today introduced its LAPIS Development Kit for its latest series of Mini Low Power Microcontroller products.  The LAPIS Development Kit is a comprehensive tool that helps accelerate the development of a wide range of embedded designs that want to fully leverage the small package, extensive peripheral mix, extended operating voltage/temperature range and electrical noise immunity advantages of the LAPIS Semiconductor ML610Q100 Series microcontrollers.  The kit includes all the code development and debugging software and hardware needed to fully realize the design possibilities of this newest microcontroller series.

The LAPIS Development kit is a complete kit including a feature rich development board with two microcontrollers, sample projects, a GUI to control the microcontrollers on the board, and all the tools required to allow you to write, program, run, and debug your application code on one or both microcontrollers.

To easily start creating circuits and programs, the LAPIS Development Kit routes all I/O pins to a prototyping area on the development board enabling rapid prototyping by providing easy access to all of the combined 40 I/O pins, as well as the power and ground rails, of two microcontrollers (ML610Q111 and ML610Q112). Two universal sockets with common pin functions allow straightforward interfacing a customer's daughter boards or future development boards from LAPIS.  These sockets are compatible with the GPIO port on Raspberry Pi ® single-board computers.
