Toshiba Launches Low Trigger Current Triac Couplers

TOKYO — (BUSINESS WIRE) — March 31, 2014Toshiba Corporation (TOKYO:6502) Semiconductor & Storage Products Company today announced the launch of low trigger current triac couplers in SO6 packages that reduce input-side power consumption to one-fifth that of Toshiba existing products. Mass production of the two new products, the non-zero-cross type “TLP267J” and the zero-cross type “TLP268J”, starts today.

The new triac couplers support a low trigger current of 3mA (max), with selected spec-types supporting 2mA (max) also available. They can reduce input-side power consumption to one-fifth of Toshiba existing products, “TLP265J” and “TLP266J”. This low-trigger-drive can contribute to flexibility of design and lower energy consumption. The triac couplers also secure reinforced insulation [1] at an isolation voltage of 3750Vrms, making them suitable for both industrial and consumer applications. They also meet JEDEC standards for reflow mounting.

Applications
Heater control, heated toilet seats, solid state relays, solenoid valve controls, etc.
