Sunnyvale, CA – March 11, 2014 – Semi-Pac today announced that Steve Pollock has joined the company as the VP, Marketing and Sales.
John MacKay, CEO of Semi-Pac said: “Steve has a very rich background in semiconductor engineering and marketing that makes him well suited to market and sell Semi-Pac’s broad line of IC packaging services and products.”
Steve started his career as a very successful designer of calculator chips for Texas Instruments. Steve moved to Silicon Valley to be the IC design and product engineering manager for Cal-Tex Semiconductor (acquired by Fairchild). Steve has held senior marketing positions for Silicon Compilers (acquired by Mentor Graphics), Intersil and Cadence Design Systems. For much of his career, Steve managed a marketing and sales consulting business focused on setting up the initial marketing and sales activities for emerging EDA (electronic design automation), semiconductor IP and consumer electronics companies. Steve is currently the chairman of the EDA Consortium Emerging Companies Committee.
Steve said: “this is a very exciting opportunity for me to market and sell the breadth of Semi-Pac’s IC packaging and assembly capabilities. Time to market is critical to the success of any new product. We have the expertise to take on the most difficult packaging challenges and design high yielding results. We can quickly deliver prototypes and the initial volume production. When our customer’s volume reaches a point that offshore manufacturing is required, the Semi-Pac team will assist in a smooth transfer to the offshore facility. This is a very compelling value proposition for the product developer whose expertise often does not include the latest state-of-the-art semiconductor packaging expertise.”
