On-line offering brings together original designs and projects to help engineers create electronic projects and systems
Marlborough, MA – February 27, 2014 – Fabstream®, the integrated PCB design and manufacturing service developed by DownStream Technologies, today announced it has formed a new partnership with Elecro-Labs.com. Electro-Labs.com is a free resource for DIY engineers and hobbyists that provides access a variety of original content including articles, blogs, tutorials and design notes to help them learn about electronics, how they work and how to design them. The diverse subject matter appeals to all experience levels and spans such topics as amateur robotics, circuit design, lasers, computer control, home automation, data acquisition, new technology, DIY projects, electronic theory, analog, and myriad microcontrollers.
As part of the partnership, Electro-Labs.com will use Fabstream’s free, SoloPCB® design software to publish projects based on the SoloPCB design flow. Users can then download project tutorials to easily follow the design of the electronic circuits and how Fabstream can help them manufacture the circuits to be installed in their project.
“We are excited to announce this partnership with Electro-Labs.com,” said Rick Almeida, Managing Director of Fabstream. “Together we provide the DIY electronic engineer and hobbyist a unique and easy to learn and holistic solution to electronic circuit design and manufacturing,” he added.
“We view the Fabstream solution as unique, providing DIY engineers free, commercial quality PCB design tools coupled with low-cost PCB manufacturing. Electro-Labs.com will then extend that concept further by providing the designs, notes and tutorials to help electronic enthusiasts select and complete the projects that are of interest to them, whether they are starting a new project or working of an existing reference design,” said Abdulgafur Mujdeci, Managing Director of Electro-Labs.com.
Both Fabstream and Electro-Labs will be making reference designs and libraries available through their respective websites. Users can choose to follow the project tutorials from scratch or use the reference designs to add more circuit capability. Electro-Labs also plans on offering the physical bare printed circuit boards and assemblies for resale on their website.
The SoloPCB design software and content such as articles, project notes, tutorials and more are provided by the companies free of charge and available through their respective websites immediately.
