A3 Integrates with SOMAG Stabilized Mount_V2

Ramat Gan, Israel - October 6, 2013 -- VisionMap and SOMAG AG Jena are pleased to announce the compatibility of SOMAG’s VSM 500 Gyro StabilizationMount with VisionMap’sA3 family of digital mapping cameras. Specifically designed for the A3 family,SOMAG’s lightweight mountenables utilization of the cameras’ full 106° field of view, capturing vertical and oblique imagery simultaneously. The highly efficient A3 cameras can be used with or without the mount, where integration with the mount increases capture efficiency and productivity even further. As with traditional A3 configuration, no IMU is required.

SOMAG is a world leader in the design and manufacture of gyro-stabilization devices forairborne remote sensors, whose highly qualified staff ensure the accuracy and support of all SOMAG products worldwide. “The specially designed VSM 500 is tightly coupled with A3 cameras to ensure a perfect workflow, with lower operational costs and an enhanced turnkey solution for A3 customers.” says Adi Gozes, A3 Product Manager.

Sebastian Schreiber, CTO of SOMAG AG Jena adds, “The electronics and mechanics of the VSM 500 are more than state-of-the-art. We put all our expertise into the device to support VisionMap with the latest stabilization technology, integrating for example a new communication protocol, where the end-user can independently set up mount-specific parameters such as movement range. All in all, the VSM 500 offers many more features than all other systems we’ve built so far, and we are proud to support VisionMap with this device.”
