Waltham, MA August 12, 2013 – ETRAGE LLC, The Engineering Automation and Integration Company, today announced, that Boundary Systems, an Etrage value added reseller, is deploying the Etrage Bulk Loader software tool and migration methodology in migrating SolidWorks models to PTC Windchill® at a $45 Million Mid-West Product Display design and manufacturing company.
The Etrage Bulk Loader is a fast and reliable way of migrating, uploading and checking-in a large quantity of CAD data, CAD metadata and documents from a Windows file system into PTC Windchill. Working with the Etrage SolidWorks Preparation Tool, it identifies duplicate files in the data set, issues with model dependencies, validates against existing CAD files in PTC Windchill and identifies conflicts. It offers easy to use interface so that the process of uploading is done in quick and effective way.
However, data migration is a process that not only involves use of software tools but also a migration methodology. Each migration process is unique just as customer data is unique. Etrage developed migration process tools and methodology that enables customers to prepare their large sets of data for the successful upload into PTC Windchill.
“Our migration methodology and Bulk Loader tool not only enables the migration of CAD models and documents, but it includes capturing of metadata and history”, states Bojan Rapaic, Director of Development at Etrage. The Etrage Bulk Loader is used for migrating PTC Creo® and Pro/ENGINEER® Wildfire®, SolidWorks and NX drawings, assemblies and parts, AutoCAD® drawings and Office Documents into PTC Windchill 9, 9.1 & 10, 10.1 & 10.2 Other CAD formats can be added upon request.
