Thinklogical Receives European Patent for Innovative Multi-Rate Signal Transmission System (MRTS) Technology for KVM and Video Extension

MRTS Drives Increased Performance While Minimizing Fiber Footprint for KVM and Video Extension and Switching Systems

August 12, 2013 -- MILFORD, Conn. – Thinklogical LLC, the worldwide leader in secure, high performance extension and switching systems for video-rich application environments, announced today that it has been granted European patent EP2274679 for its Multi-Rate Transmission System (MRTS) technology.

Thinklogical systems allow users to access video and data sources such as computers, DVD players, live video feeds, and networks, and switch those sources to destinations including displays, workstations, video walls, and more. Thousands of customers use Thinklogical products to achieve secure, high performance extension and switching for command and control centers, control rooms, video analysis centers, video editing studios, air traffic control, emergency response, scientific modeling, 3D simulation, live event staging, operating rooms and more.

The MRTS technology from Thinklogical enables multiple data streams of uncompressed video, audio and peripheral signals to be combined and transmitted over distances up to 40 km (24.85 miles) over a single fiber optic cable at 6.25Gpbs bandwidth. This allows for a highly scalable architecture that delivers video content and data with no latency, artifacts or lost frames, and with a minimum number of system components and fiber connections.

“This patent solidifies Thinklogical’s global reputation for technology leadership and product innovation,” said Joe Pajer, president and CEO of Thinklogical. “MRTS allows Thinklogical customers to implement highly-secure and scalable signal extension and switching infrastructures with higher levels of performance, reliability and accuracy than other approaches. In addition, MRTS enables Thinklogical customers to achieve these higher levels while using fewer fiber optic cables and system components than competitive solutions. MRTS is truly an innovative, unique and sustainable competitive advantage for Thinklogical.”
