OPTIS at Siggraph 2013

July 10, 2013- Toulon, France – OPTIS, the world leading provider of solutions for physics based simulation of optics, light and human vision, and maker of THEIA RT, the first real time ray tracing and global illumination program, is pleased to announce THEIA RT V3 debuting live at SIGGRAPH at Anaheim, California USA July 23th-25th.

OPTIS's internally developed rendering technology continues to bring speed and accurate lighting to renderings, animations and interactive visuals for 3D professionals across many industries.

We are focused on the features and updates that users have requested over the last few releases of THEIA RT with new user interface updates, more render options and real physical data for materials (BRDF - Bidirectional reflectance distribution function) and lighting (spectrum, ies) that aid in working with 3D data throughout the entire product design process.

With this release, we are proud to announce greatly improved rendering speed and enhancements that make THEIA RT the fastest, most accurate 3D rendering an animation system available.

New THEIA RT Features and Updates included in the new release of THEIA RT:

  • An unique “CarbonLive” functionality that enables to visualize in real time all carbon material effect.
  • HDRI Calibration tools to ensure more physically-correctness, even with HDRI files.
  • Video tutorials to Get Started with using THEIA-RT.
  • Export different layers to HD images for post-production/compositing to create marketing content.
  • Run SPEOS VE simulation directly inside Theia-RT to analyse, optilmize and validate with physics data.
  • Advanced graphical scenarisation tool.
  • An updated, cleaner user interface.
  • An extended library based real physical data for materials (brdf) and lighting (spectrum, ies)

About OPTIS
OPTIS is the world leading for the scientific simulation of optics, light and human vision within a Virtual Reality Environment. Its solutions allow designers, ergonomists and engineers to simulate and optimize lighting performance, product appearance as well as the visibility and legibility of information on Human Machine Interfaces, in a fully-immersive environment.

Since integrating its solutions in SolidWorks in 2001, CATIA V5 in 2002 and Pro/ENGINEER in 2008, OPTIS is still the only company to provide a light simulation solution fully based on a physical model inside a CAD/CAM software.

OPTIS has delivered more than 7000 licenses to 1800 customers in 38 countries worldwide. Users include most of the major automotive, aerospace, electronics, white goods and lighting manufacturers, as well as architects, universities, research laboratories and defence agencies. They use the OPTIS technology to design, simulate and visualize in a Virtual Reality environment, products as diverse as automotive lighting, mobile phone screens and keypads, dashboard and cockpit displays, LCDs, LEDs, luminaires, military detection systems and optics for industrial vision, defence and medical applications.
