Toronto, Canada, July 3, 2013 — Optech, the world leader in the development, manufacture and support of advanced lidar and camera survey instruments, is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of its third Imaging and Lidar Solutions Conference (ILSC 2013). Running from June 25 to 27 in Toronto, the conference included workshops, seminars, product demonstrations, and keynote addresses for attendees from all over the world.

“2013 was another great year for ILSC,” said Don Carswell, CEO of Optech. “The mapping industry has shown particular interest in lidar and imagery fusion recently, so this year we included more best practices and important considerations for extracting useful and timely information from complex lidar datasets and photogrammetric imagery. We also heard important keynote speeches from Brian Doody of Teledyne DALSA and Clayton Crawford of Esri about the future of imaging and lidar, and a fascinating retrospective by Allan Carswell, Optech’s founder.”

Attendees also saw some of the most recent updates and additions to Optech’s technology, including the new 360° Point Grey Ladybug® camera for the Lynx Mobile Mapper, the award-winning CS-15000 aerial camera system, the new 300 series of Optech Orion ALTMs, including the high-altitude H300, and version 2.4 of the game-changing Optech LMS Lidar Management Suite, which automates the processing of data from both airborne and mobile lidar sensors. In total, attendees travelled more than 275,000 km (170,000 miles) from all around the world to share their experiences and successes using Optech's versatile and integrated products.
