2013 Cityworks User Conference Surpasses Expectations

Salt Lake City Hosts Largest GIS-centric Management Solution Gathering

June 20, 2013 -- Sandy, UT — More than 600 people from around the world attended the 2013 Cityworks User Conference at the Salt Palace Convention Center in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah, May 22-24. Hosted by Azteca Systems Inc., the leading provider of GIS-centric management solutions, attendees shared a wealth of experience and exchanged useful information knowledge while networking with Cityworks users, business partners, and staff.

The move to Salt Lake City’s Salt Palace Convention Center symbolized the company’s growth with attendance close to 20% higher than 2012. The Cityworks Expo Hall was an especially exciting addition to the conference where Cityworks users, business partners, exhibitors, and staff gathered daily to share knowledge, ideas, and conversation. The expo hall was clearly the Town Center of the event.

“The Cityworks User Conference was an excellent event held in a great and beautiful city,” said Gary Chrysler, IT Manager at Skagit County Public Utility District, Washington. “The conference and training was packed with valuable information, more than my brain could hold! Cityworks is a first class product and Azteca Systems is a first class team. I felt the conference was very beneficial and enjoyed myself while there. I look forward to attending Cityworks User Conferences in the future.”

The conference began Wednesday morning with the plenary session, in which President and CEO Brian Haslam offered his insights of trends affecting Cityworks users. Presentations from the Azteca Systems development team followed, showcasing new functionality in mobile technology and Cloud environments, as well as exciting enhancements in Cityworks AMS and PLL.

Informative breakout sessions hosted by Cityworks users, business partners, and staff continued Wednesday afternoon, all day Thursday, and Friday morning. Conference attendees were treated to the Cityworks Expo Social Wednesday for an evening of food and entertainment featuring the Salamanders cover band and the Flying Aces ski and snowboard trampoline acrobatics team. Business partners showcased their services and solutions in the exhibit hall within the Cityworks Expo and were readily available to answer questions and discuss solutions. Over seventy members of Azteca Systems staff were present at the conference, hosting and attending sessions, answering questions in the Cityworks Solutions Center and demo stations, and meeting with clients and partners.
