ThinkGeo Releases Map Suite 7.0 Native to the .NET 4.0 Framework with Enhanced Geometry Functions, Raster Reprojection, FileGeodatabase Support, and Many Other New Features

June 08, 2013 -- Frisco, TX — ThinkGeo has released version 7.0 of Map Suite, its full line of GIS software components for .NET developers. This major upgrade refreshes ThinkGeo's entire product line with a wide variety of enhancements that were requested by the Map Suite community. It includes many new features, bug fixes and stability improvements all native to the .NET 4.0 Framework.

Version 7.0 includes enhancements to geometric functions resulting in increased processing speeds, accuracy, and reliability. Map Suite users will now be able to take advantage of FileGeodatabase, Raster Reprojection, and WMTS support. Map Suite WPF Desktop Edition 7.0 also includes significant improvements in speed and memory usage of its TrackInteractiveOverlay and EditInteractiveOverlay resulting in better performance. Map Suite Geocoder 7.0 can be used with multithreading and includes the latest Tiger 2012 data. Additionally, Map Suite Routing offers API improvements leading to better performance.

Other notable enhancements in the Map Suite 7.0 release include integration and performance improvements for the OracleFeatureLayer and Ms2008SqlServerFeatureSource throughout all Map Suite controls and components. Beyond that, a variety of bug fixes and stability developments have been implemented across the Map Suite GIS product range. ThinkGeo's next major milestone of Map Suite, version 8.0, is set for May of 2014, but developers can expect to start seeing and testing beta features from that release in advance via the daily builds.
