The NIEM program, celebrating eight years as a successful government initiative, helps organizations and governments share critical information in the areas of emergency management, intelligence, infrastructure protection, law enforcement and more, all of which have substantial need for geospatial support.
The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) is a voluntary international consensus-based organization encouraging the adoption of open standards as they apply to geographic information systems.
"OGC has done a tremendous amount of work on standardizing and harmonizing the way geospatial information is represented in tools we use every day. NIEM has been a tremendous success in government, and the interest in its use seems to have exceeded everyone's expectations from the early days. ArdentMC is thrilled to be a part of the effort to take some of the best work done in the geospatial information systems (GIS) arena, and introduce it to the successful information exchange model found in NIEM," said Brandon LaBonte, ArdentMC President.
ArdentMC will work as a member of a small group of firms focused on delivering the OGC GML standard as a compatible component of NIEM packaging.
