AIA Announces Architect Live! Co-Host Contest Winners

Washington, D.C., April 23, 2013 --  After tabulating almost 6,000 votes, the American Institute of Architects (AIA) has announced that Amanda Gann and Karen Tang were the winners of the contest to select co-hosts for Architect Live! taking place on the expo floor during the AIA National Convention and Design Exhibition

Amanda Gann received her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tennessee in 2012.  She currently works at Red Chair Architects in Knoxville. This summer she will be working as a researcher for Professor Ted Shelton and a Graduate Teaching Assistant for Representation Fundamentals while pursuing a Master of Science in Architecture.  Her passion for architecture was sparked as a child and her current research engages the role of architecture, landscape and urban design in the development of more resilient urban landscapes.

Karen Tang is a second year undergraduate student at the California Polytechnic University, Pomona and an active member of the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS).  Her passion for architecture started with her love of art and design.  Last summer she interned at Jingsen Architecture Design Firm in the Guangzhou, China.  This summer she will research at the Getty Center for Earthen Architecture Initiative.
