Darmstadt, Germany, February 2013 – With V6 xPDM Windchill Adapter, PROSTEP has developed a product that enables the bidirectional exchange of data between CATIA V6 (VPM Central) from Dassault Systèmes and Windchill from PTC.
The product was created within the framework of a close development partnership with Dassault Systèmes. Because PROSTEP also works closely together with PTC, it was possible to seamlessly integrate both systems. This means that companies who use PTC Windchill can also integrate the innovative V6 products from Dassault in their existing system environment.
The V6 xPDM Windchill Adapter uses PROSTEP’s proven OpenPDM technology and is currently being implemented in initial customer projects. One of the highlights of the product is the bidirectional synchronization of product structures between both systems. CAD and other files are transferred in addition to the metadata.
The V6 xPDM Windchill Adapter uses standard interfaces as well as separate business logic and thus enables the integration of V6 and Windchill. This system architecture substantially reduces the amount of time and effort involved in system upgrades. Typical application scenarios are preconfigured in the adapter, which means that it is possible to significantly shorten the introduction phase.
In order to offer its customers an even greater number of integration solutions, PROSTEP is already working at high speed on developing other products based on xPDM.
