Design for Love: 87 Sweet Christmas Gifts by ZW3D CAD/CAM Users

GUANGZHOU, China — (BUSINESS WIRE) — December 17, 2012 — ZWSOFT, the leading supplier of 2D & 3D  CAD/CAM solutions to the AEC and MCAD industries, announced the long-awaited results of the ZW3D Holiday Model Challenge on  GrabCAD. There were 87 entries and a total of six winners who won the hearts of the judges with their designs and creativity in this challenge, winning prizes consisting of 3D Connexion 3D mice, a 3D print out of design from Ponoko and $1,700 in cash.

The 3D CAD Model Challenge lasted the entire month of November at GrabCAD.com, which is a renowned 3D model sharing platform for mechanical engineers and CAD users. The holiday-themed helped people all around the world get in the spirit and engineers and designers submitted a total of 87 entries.

The grand prize winner, Tan Teck Wee designed from his heart, creating a model toy that he knew his son would love. He combined his son’s love for trains and airplanes and designed the winning model, a flying toy train. When Tan Teck Wee found out he won the contest, he said, “Wow! I really never expected to win! Honestly, I just wanted to explore another software and took this as a good chance to learn. Thank you!”

All of the participants showed off their designing capabilities in this competition and shined when modeling in ZW3D CAD/CAM. The response from the competition was incredible and the participants showed great enthusiasm for not only the challenge, but the software as well. Here are just a few comments from participants:
