Bruce recently received the award at the SAE 2012 Commercial Vehicle Engineering Congress, held in Rosemont, Ill.
The award recognizes an outstanding young engineer in the off-highway or powerplant industry. Established in 1996, the award was proposed by senior engineering executives and is administered under the auspices of the SAE Engineering Meetings Board in cooperation with AEM.
Bruce joined Cummins in 2008 as a Cooling System Technical Specialist. She was promoted to a Technical Leader role early 2009. In 2011, she became the MidRange Machine Integration Tools team manager.
Prior to joining Cummins, Bruce worked four years as a Product Development Engineer for the Ford Motor Company in Turkey, where she was involved in the development of a global 5-cylinder engine project.
Bruce earned her bachelor's in civil engineering in 1998 and a master's in civil engineering in 2000 from Bosphorus University in Turkey. She received her doctorate in mechanical engineering from West Virginia University in 2004.
