HOUSTON, TX -- (Marketwire) -- Oct 17, 2012 -- Intergraph CADWorx & Analysis Solutions (Intergraph CAS) president Rick Allen discussed the evolution of company's product strategies and associated growth following the merger of Intergraph and COADE and the company's acquisition in 2010 by Hexagon. The discussion came during an interview by Society of Piping Engineers and Designers (SPED) writer William Beazley during the company's CAU2012 user conference in September that was published in the association's October 8, 2012 online newsletter. In addition to serving as the president of Intergraph CAS, Allen is also senior vice president of Intergraph Process, Power & Marine.

During the interview with SPED's Beazley, Allen discussed the company's leadership in laser scanning technology with its CADWorx fieldPipe product which captures data (point clouds) of an existing plant or facility and converts that data immediately and automatically into an accurate 3D model of the facility. He also talked about the company's continuing commitment to the integration of engineering analysis and plant design to allow information sharing and project collaboration between engineers and designers and the enhanced productivity this provides for their organizations.
