TomTom Announces Enhanced Map Content at Oracle OpenWorld

SAN FRANCISCO — (BUSINESS WIRE) — October 3, 2012 — TomTom today announces two updates to its Geospatial for Oracle data solution. These include Address Points, which delivers the highest level in geocoding accuracy, and TomTom's unique 2D City Maps. Each new version will be fully compliant with Oracle Database 12c.

Address Points use information from private and government sources to pinpoint the exact location of an address to a specific building. This offers a faster, more precise method of locating addresses in applications such as transportation logistics, risk assessment and emergency response.

2D City Maps meets a growing demand for more realistic map displays by showing building footprints and land-use information on the navigable map. This feature helps end users recognize locations and orientate themselves quickly when viewing the map.

"Oracle computing is continuously changing and evolving, as the forthcoming announcement of Oracle 12c illustrates," says Charles Cautley, Managing Director, Automotive, Enterprise & Government at TomTom. “Today’s announcement demonstrates once again our commitment to keep TomTom Geospatial for Oracle at the forefront of Oracle back office systems and business applications.”

TomTom Geospatial for Oracle will include 2D City Maps and Address Points and will be available to existing users under normal licensing and maintenance terms.
