Camstar Launches Global Manufacturing Workshop and Plant Tour Series

Top Manufacturers Open Doors to Reveal How their Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Help Improve Global Performance and Quality

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — September 27, 2012 — Camstar Systems, Inc. announced today that it has launched its Global Manufacturing Workshop and Plant Tour Series. Manufacturing leaders will meet at locations throughout the world to benchmark with others in leveraging state-of-the-art technology to improve manufacturing and quality, and to learn how to increase productivity, reduce costs of quality, improve visibility across global operations and partners, and enable continuous improvement and lean initiatives.

Featured manufacturers will give exclusive plant tours showing Camstar’s Enterprise MES in production on the shop floor. Manufacturing executives will share insights into their success in leveraging MES and the real productivity, efficiency and quality benefits achieved. Attendees will also see a demonstration of Camstar’s revolutionary 5.1 release, the world’s most intuitive and easiest to use MES.

The series kicks-off with two events focused on Medical Device manufacturers. The first is in Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 30, 2012, and includes a Workshop and Plant Tour at Boston Scientific. Speaking companies include Boston Scientific and Terumo.

“I look forward to the Camstar Workshop and Plant Tour hosted by Boston Scientific,” said Mark Lincoln, VP of Quality and Operations at Terumo CVS and a speaker at the Minneapolis event. “The exchange of ideas and direct access to how others have deployed and benefitted from MES will be invaluable.”

On November 14, 2012, the series moves to Munich, Germany, with an exclusive Medical Device workshop co-produced by Camstar’s local partner znt-Richter. Speaking companies at this event include Carl Zeiss Meditec, Fresenius Medical Care and Sorin Group.

“I have attended and hosted Camstar Workshops and Plant Tours in the past, and strongly encourage manufacturers to participate,” said Kal Nawawi, Director of Manufacturing for Carl Zeiss Meditec and a speaker at the Munich event. “They will gain valuable insights into enabling lean operations and quality improvements.”

The Global Workshop and Plant Tour series will continue in 2013 with additional events for the Medical Device, Semiconductor and Electronics industries.
