Spatial Wave, Inc. Announces the Release of Mapplet Version 6

Laguna Hills, California – September, 2012  -   Spatial Wave, Inc. announces the release of Mapplet Version 6, the powerful viewing application for connecting external data to GIS viewers from ESRI. Mapplet 6 is both a technology platform as well as a solution for creating powerful GIS viewing environments. As a platform, this release of Mapplet dramatically extends the power of ESRI’s ArcGIS technology to connect to external data. As a solution, this release of Mapplet brings external data to all standard ArcGIS Viewers including both ArcGIS for Silverlight, and ArcGIS for Flex viewers. It also provides production ready tools which extend the power of ArcGIS for Silverlight viewers beyond their basic capabilities. Mapplet 6 takes advantage of the latest technology from ESRI in ArcGIS 10 and 10.1 to provide a rich user experience and a more flexible administration.

Mapplet 6 includes a migration tool for clients who have invested resources in creating comprehensive operational dashboards and portals using older versions of Mapplet. The migration tool automates and simplifies the process of upgrading to Mapplet 6. Mapplet 6 also includes the capability to connect external data to cloud based GIS services. This capability enables a site to use ArcGIS.com as the source of mapping services while relying on Mapplet to connect map services to local enterprise databases. This is a unique functionality that combines cloud based GIS with access to local data without having to house sensitive and dynamic data in the cloud. Organizations with sensitive customer data can benefit from this capability while migrating their GIS to the cloud.

“Our customers have enjoyed the value provided by Mapplet without the need to develop custom solutions every time a new technology is introduced", states Ali Diba, CEO of Spatial Wave. "Mapplet has been there to help our customers migrate from ArcIMS to ArcGIS Server, and now to the cloud based GIS without a major investment in re-engineering their solutions”, states Ali Diba, CEO of Spatial Wave.

The new version of Mapplet also provides a seamless integration option for creating operational and management dashboards for field related workflows conducted using Field Mapplet. As in the past, Mapplet can access multi-media content from MapLibary and make it available in ArcGIS Viewer for Silverlight or Flex to view managed content.
