August 3, 2012 - McLean, Va. . . . AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology has announced that Peter Borden, past President of AMTDA and current Strategic Integration Officer of AMT, will be leaving the association effective August 31, 2012.
“When we embarked on integrating AMTDA with AMT we knew it was the right thing to do for our members and for the manufacturing technology industry,” Mr. Borden said. “We also knew it would take a lot of early focus and attention to ensure a seamless merger of the two organizations. I am very pleased to see that our efforts to create one united manufacturing technology association are well underway, and the programs and services as well as the staffs of the two organizations are now woven into one united group.
“It was my intention to stay and support the organization until all of our operations were successfully integrated. Seeing this accomplished, I feel that I will be leaving the AMT in good hands as I move on to my next challenge.”
“We are very grateful for all of Pete’s leadership and efforts in seeing the integration of AMT and AMTDA to its current state,” said Douglas K. Woods, President of AMT. “His vast manufacturing industry experience and foresight in seeing the value of this merger to AMTD and AMT members, as well as the greater manufacturing technology industry, are indeed laudable. We hope we will be able to utilize some of Pete’s time and support in the future as we continue to strengthen U.S. manufacturing and, most importantly, the success of our members.”
