OnTerra Systems Completes Web Mapping Locator for National Biodiesel Board Using Its LocatorSavvy(TM) Store Locator Development Tool

DENVER, CO -- (Marketwire) -- Jul 10, 2012 -- OnTerra Systems ( www.OnTerraSystems.com), a technology leader in Web mapping, fleet optimization, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) integration solutions and services, today announced completion of a member and distributor locator for 15 Web sites operated by the National Biodiesel Board. A national trade association representing America's biodiesel producers, the National Biodiesel Board works to create sustainable biodiesel industry growth through education, communication, governmental affairs, and technical and quality assurance programs. To support this outreach, IT Director Scott Tremain supports 15 different websites. Tremain was working on a major Web site re-design, and he needed a Web-based locator for member companies and distributors.

The Web maps on the National Biodiesel Board's Web sites were the most visited pages, so it was a crucial function that needed to provide ease of use, powerful search capabilities, and excellent functionality. "The maps on our Web site were the top-visited pages before the change, and are even more so now. This was an area we simply had to get right," said Mr. Tremain.

The National Biodiesel Board chose to work with OnTerra Systems and use its LocatorSavvy™ -- a Web-based store locator tool that speeds up the process of developing store or business locators -- with specific customization services by OnTerra experts. Tremain chose OnTerra Systems for their strong expertise in Web mapping and locator technology in general, and also because of their LocatorSavvy™ store locator development tool. "It was clear that the OnTerra Systems team knew what they were doing when it came to web mapping and locators," said Tremain. "Even more important, OnTerra Systems was quite willing to customize their platform to our specific needs."

Tremain's long-time Microsoft consultant Scott Whiting was involved in the process and found the OnTerra Systems team professional, technical, and project management skills unparalleled. "I've worked with a lot of different technology consulting firms, and OnTerra's project management, discipline, and professionalism were better than many of the bigger firms with which we've worked," said Mr. Whiting.

Once OnTerra Systems' project scope was completed, the National Biodiesel team took ownership of the locator "platform" and continued to refine and enhance it. "We took a great foundation and have been building on it and refining it with the help of our clients," continued Mr. Tremain. "Our members are quick to pick up a phone and call when something isn't working right. The biggest testament that the member and distributor locator is working well is that we've not heard any complaints at all."

The new member and distributor locator developed by OnTerra Systems for the National Biodiesel Board features significant improvements over the previous member and distributor locator technology. For example, map updates now are done automatically twice a day. In the past, there typically was a one-week delay from receiving updates from members to when the updates would be posted. "If anyone is looking for web-mapping support, I would recommend OnTerra Systems. They took a big piece of our project off of our plate so we could focus on the rest. I couldn't be happier!" said Mr. Tremain.

"Helping organizations deliver geospatial results quickly is what we're all about," said Steve Milroy, OnTerra Systems CEO. "With our LocatorSavvy™ platform and services, we can accelerate development of map-based depictions of business data, using industry standards with no browser plug-ins, and with unprecedented ease of use."

"Our LocatorSavvy platform is unique in that it offers powerful features and functions at competitive pricing," noted Patrick Campbell, OnTerra Systems' COO. "With the LocatorSavvy™ platform and our ability to quickly deliver store locator solutions for our clients, we can enable virtually any-sized business to leverage geospatial data for competitive advantage while allowing them to focus on what they do best, which is running their business and taking care of customers."
